With a family tree taking in Nigeria and Coventry and a highly unusual sensitivity, Obaro Ejimiwe can be proud of his reputation as the oddball on the British scene, which he has earned in his own right since his debut in 2010. His unique style is based on profound lyrics recited with a mixture of melancholy and unconventional beats (a little wonky and a little hip-hop) which charmed Gilles Peterson and made him sign him to his label in record time.
