Montreal is a cold place. Thankfully, producer and selectah Poirier resides there, offering some heat to his frost-bitten city. That is, if you can catch him in town: his releases on Ninja Tune, Chocolate Industries, and the Argentinian digital cumbia label, ZZK, have kept the DJ and producer in demand across the globe. Poirier’s work shows a knack for blending tropical rhythms, whether it be soca, dancehall, or cumbia, with a healthy dose of bass.
